How do I know the seller owns the domain?
Before we list the domain, the seller verifies ownership by pointing it to our servers. Once we confirm, the listing is published.
What happens after I purchase a domain?
As soon as the payment is processed, both you and the seller will receive an email with the other’s details. You can then arrange for the transfer of the domain to a registrar of your choice.
What happens if I don’t receive the domain?
If you do not receive the domain after purchase, the seller must provide you with a refund from their Stripe account. If they are unresponsive, we can try to help, or you can contact Stripe directly to resolve the issue.
How long does the transfer process take?
It depends on the registrar. If both buyer and seller are using the same registrar, it can be a few hours. If not, the process can take 5-10 days.
What payment options are available?
The seller connects their Stripe account, which means that any major credit or debit card can be used for the purchase.
How is my payment kept secure?
The checkout is completely hosting by Stripe and is fully secure. Maker Monikers does not have access to any credit card information and Stripe uses SSL and PCI compliant processes to ensure your security.
What domain names can I sell?
We are looking to list brandable domains that would make a good startup, side project or app name. We only accept domains with 12 or fewer characters.
What TLDs do you accept?
At launch we are accepting .com, .co and .io domains. We may support more extensions in the future.
How do I get paid?
Once you have an account, you can connect it to your Stripe account and any payments for your listings will be deposited directly into your Stripe account.
What are your commission rates?
We charge the lowest commission of any brandable domain marketplace: 10%. There are no listing fees, and you only pay when the domain is sold.
